The Froobian Times is a newspaper on [[Map 12]] which published its first issue on the 4th of September 2024 during [[Map 11]], thus marking its creation. Its headquarters are based in the northwest of [[New Harfell]], while its [[Map 11]] headquarters were based in [[Ortopia]] along [[Ortopia#MainStreet|Main Street]].

On the 1st of January 2026, the digital version of the paper transitioned from its [[https://sites.google.com/view/thefroobiantimes| Google Site]] to its [[https://thefroobiantimes.substack.com/| Substack]], which is now the digital home of the paper and its subsidiaries.

Olivia313: Added New Harfell builds

Oliviaa313 is a player who joined the server on the 28th of November, 2022 in [[Map 11]]. She was formerly called Olivia313.

== Overview ==

Olivia founded the [[Benevolent Montostanian Empire]] on the 28th of January 2023 having previously been a member of the nation of [[Ortopia]]. She would later return to [[Ortopia]] in July of 2024 to help re-develop the nation. On the the 18th of April 2023, she received the trusted rank. She is an avid FroobWorld Wiki enjoyer.

She joined [[New Harfell]] on the 26th of December 2025, where she is currently constructing the [[Froobian Times|Froobian Times Headquarters]].

While procrastinating studying for exams in 2022, Olivia stumbled across FroobWorld while looking for SMP servers to join having only got Minecraft for PC a few weeks prior. She loves the server and it's players.

== Buildings & Projects ==

Although not an exhaustive list, below includes most of Olivia's builds/projects:

* A (now abandoned) train station located Southwest of Old Spawn. This was originally intended to be the first building of a nation called Nyoto, with the project not being continued due to Olivia being invited to [[Ortopia]].

* The Montostan Castle, located in the heart of the [[Benevolent Montostanian Empire|B.M.E.]]. Abandoned.
* [[Benevolent Montostanian Empire|B.M.E.]] Embassy located in the centre of [[Harfell]]. This marked the beginning of formal diplomatic relations with the two nations, which continues healthily to this day.
* The Senate building. , hoped to serve as the governmental centre of the [[Benevolent Montostanian Empire|B.M.E.]], hosting the Senate and foreign councils. Abandoned.
* Kastelo Square (name a W.I.P.), a central square in Kastelo City sitting on the steps of the Senate building.
* The B.M.E. Central Railway Station, also known as 'B.M.E. Central', 'B.M.E. Central Station' was to serve as the railway link of the B.M.E. to all other nations on the server, spawn and the hub of all national rail/metro. Construction began on the 22nd of April, 2023. Abandoned.
* The Southeastern Condominium of Montostan and Harfell (or the S.C.M.H.), created on the 25th of March 2023 to serve as a protective/preventative measure against a potential invasion or attack from WaffleKing during [[The Waffle War|The WaffleKing Scare]] (February 2023 - April 2023). Note that this was built with other players, and continues as a cooperative project.

== Overview ==

New Harfell is located east of spawn. It was founded by [[_A_sly_Potato_]] and [[Eclipsecats]] on June 28th 2025. It was made an official town by connecting it to spawn through nether tunnels on June 29th 2025, making it the first official town on [[Map 12]]. It sits on an island surrounded by a peninsula. New Harfell is also home to [[Map 12]]'s first shop; created by [[Threemonk]].

== Alliance ==

New Harfell is a leading town in [[Eastern_Mandate|The Eastern Mandate]] and is allied with all of the towns within it.

South of New Harfell lies a western themed town called Fox City. It is a separate state but flies the New Harfell flag.

== Name ==

The name "[[Harfell]]" was chosen by [[_A_sly_Potato|Sly]] because it was a town on [[Map 11]] that he had lived in for most of his time on FroobWorld. The name has been approved by [[Stinkerism]].

The first notable event occured in New Harfell was a dispute between Foxfire3321 and Foxfurlife. On top of the newly contrusted Effiel tower, Foxfire and Foxfurlife were sitting in the observation platform when [[A_sly_Potato|Sly]] and [[Illumnex]] floated up on a happy ghast. Foxfire went to hop on when Foxfurlife hit him off! Foxfire gathered his loot, then went back up to face foxfurlife. Sly sealed the room in glass just as they started fighting. At this point, a few other players tped and watched along with Sly on top of the happy ghast. Foxfurlife, being the superior fighter eventually won. Leading to foxfire declaring a court hearing. In under 10 minutes, [[Map_12|Map 12's]] first courtroom was built. It sits elevated above a cliff that drops down to the bay. In a suprising turn of events, the 2 foxes claimed that Sly and [[Illumnex]] had "forced them to fight for entertainment". In the end, Foxfire3321 and Foxfurlife won the case; leading to the judge sentencing Sly and [[Illumnex]] to execution. Sly tried to run, but was chased down by [[Meekiale|Meek]] and killed.

The Colosseum is a project that was started by Sly in late August of 2025. It is a 1.1 scale replica and features numerous hallway and seating. Other features include (but are not limited to) an auto armor equipper, a super smelter, a basement level with storage, and a sometimes working honeycomb farm. Several PVP gatherings have been hosted there despite its unfinished state. Sly hopes to complete the Colosseum in early 2026 or earlier.

The Southeastern Condominium of Montostan and Harfell (henceforth referred to by its acronym, the S.C.M.H.) is an island colony of joint jurisdiction governed in coalition between the [[Benevolent Montostanian Empire]] and [[Harfell]]. It borders the [[Erevan#Joint_Cities|muncipality of Panticapol]], and is geographically close to [[Erevan]] and greater [[Pretorian Empire|Pretoria]]. The colony was founded on the 25th of March 2023, stemming from the historical event known as [[The Waffle War]], and was of strategic importance to the two founding nations.

When Sly first joined he was met with a couple interesting messages including, "welcome!" "welcome, please read the rules", and "Fresh meat!". Sly read the rules and started to explore spawn. I've been playing Minecraft for over 7 years, when I decided "Hmmm... I wanna see how I fare in a multiplayer experience." So, I asked around for good multiplayer servers, and found FroobWorld! The first time I joined, I had no idea what to do, but I teleported off to my first environment, a Taiga forest, where I ended up dying due to shenanigans. Afterwards, however, I got lucky (or unlucky) and stumbled in a Trial Chamber, where things didn't go so hot, until I got outside assistance from a fellow player. After getting as much as I could, I found my way back up to the surface, built a house, and went back to mining. Soon, I found enough Obsidian to make a portal, so I did, of course. That was when I had an epiphany: I could sell potions! After all, I have most, if not all recipes memorized (don't ask why), and others could benefit from my brewing. So, I decided to get to work on a potion delivery service.

JGKelpChip has been a dedicated member to the server ever since
joining the server on the 11th of August, 2022. At first joining, JGKelpChips, (A.K.A Kelp, JG, Chips, Kelp Guy, strange man) joined the first nation to be established on the server, Harfell.

It was a incomplete nation at the time of joining but JGK gained a trustworthy friendship that would last throughout time. Stinkerism led and still leads Harfell and has become one of JGKelpChips favorite people on the server, (although Stink may not know it). JG contributed to several projects in Harfell and Boopy even built a sick statue of JG and his pig Ort.

JG cares a lot about Ort... A whole lot... maybe even too much. Especially after his fateful death.

JGKelp cares so much about Ort that when it was time for him to go search for a new area to build his own nation, taking the spark from Stinkerism, he found a secluded Jungle, only a few hundred blocks from his old nation Harfell. Ortopia was born, (find exact date of Ortopias birth) after the name of Ort, and was soon to become the largest nation on the server. Winterfall, an ally of Ortopia, has been suspected to attempt to take the throne of Ortopia, but to no avail. Eventually Stink would retire for a short time and JGKelpChip would have a short reign over Harfell.

JGKelpChip is now a succesful leader of Ortopia and has strived to bring peace to the rest of the server. JG has one dream he never accomplished yet, to become the greatest writer on the server.

Olivia founded the [[Benevolent Montostanian Empire]] on the 28th of January 2023 having previously been a member of the nation of [[Ortopia]]. She would later return to [[Ortopia]] in July of 2024 to help re-develop the nation. On the the 18th of April 2023, she received the trusted rank. She is an avid FroobWorld Wiki enjoyer.

While procrastinating studying for exams in 2022, Olivia stumbled across FroobWorld while looking for SMP servers to join having only got Minecraft for PC a few weeks prior. She loves the server and it's players.

It was founded on the 28th of January 2023 by [[Olivia313]]. The B.M.E. came to be after founder [[Olivia313]] left the nation of [[Ortopia]], wishing to create her own country. The nation then grew in population, infrastructure, and the construction of buildings. [[Olivia313]] stepped down from leadership on the 8th of February 2024, with [[Nathaniel____]] then becoming leader. Contained within the B.M.E.'s self defined borders is approximately 480,000 blocks squared. The nation had 5 citizens: [[Olivia313]], [[Kinoko_6040]], [[Nathaniel____]], [[BonesDaBoss]], and [[PlateLOL]].

The translation of "Montostan", which can also be used to describe the nation, is taken from the Esperanto word for mountain (monto) and adding the suffix -stan meaning "place of". Therefore “Montostan” roughly means "Place of (the) mountain".

The B.M.E. had two official languages. These were, in order of priority, Esperanto and English. All permanent signs must have Esperanto text, followed by English (although this is not a necessity). In the [[Southeastern Condominium of Montostan & Harfell|S.C.M.H]], Dutch was also a secondary language as it was the official language of [[Harfell]].

The first ever Senator was appointed by Olivia ([[Kinoko_6040]]). Diplomatic relations with [[Ortopia]] are opened, with the King of [[Ortopia]], [[JGKelpChip]], being made a citizen.

On the 31st of January 2023, mass deforestation occured in preparation for the countryside areas.

By the 2nd of February 2023, the original village which preceded Kastelo City was completely destroyed.

On the 11th of March 2023, construction begins on the B.M.E.'s first embassy, located in [[Harfell]] at the foot of the hill from the Château de Puanteur. Despite the two nation's contact spanning further back, this marks the beginning of formal relations with the two nations, which continued healthily for many years afterwards.

On the 19th of March 2023, diplomatic relations were officially established with [[Winterfall]], with the gifting of a totem of undying to [[Olivia313]] from [[DRTre_the_Knight]] and disscusions of plans of constructing a future embassy. Also known as The WaffleKing Scare, The Waffle War was a historical event on [[Map 11]], which began in mid-March of 2023 and ended around June of the same year. As there was no major psychical confrontation between the two sides, the end of the war is hard to determine. With the Waffle "Entente" gradually growing more quiet as the summer wore on, the War came to a foggy and indeterminable end with no clear winning or loosing side.

The war led to the creation of the [[Southeastern_Condominium_of_Montostan_and_Harfell|S.C.M.H.]] being founded by [[Olivia313]] & [[Stinkerism]], with the intent of the island being a protective/preventative measure against a potential invasion or attack from the [[Waffle Empire]] (modern day [[Pretorian Empire]]). The Coalition Against Waffles (henceforth given the abbreviation of C.A.W.) was also created as a result of the war, which saw the nations of [[Harfell]], the [[Benevolent Montostanian Empire|B.M.E.]], [[Ortopia]] and [[The Warden's City]] form an alliance with the aim of keeping Waffle Empire leader, [[WaffleKing0407]], in check.

The largest "[[Erevan#Joint_Cities|joint city]]" of [[Erevan]], the municipality of [[Erevan#Panticapol|Panticapol]] was founded in December of 2023 with the purpose of strengthening Erevan's influence and claim on the S.C.M.H. colony, among other things.

As of February 15, 2025, [[Erevan]] has initiated a blockade against the [[Southeastern Condominium of Montostan and Harfell|S.C.M.H.]] in response to a long-standing territorial dispute over the islands. Erevan claims dejure ownership of these islands, asserting that it was colonized without the consent of the former emperor: [[WaffleKing0407]].

Oliviaa313 is a player who joined the server on the 28th of November, 2022 in [[Map 11]]. She was formerly called Olivia313.

Olivia founded the [[Benevolent Montostanian Empire]] on the 28th of January 2023 having previously been a member of the nation of [[Ortopia]]. She would later return to [[Ortopia]] in July of 2024 to help re-develop the nation. On the the 18th of April 2023, she received the trusted rank. She is an avid FroobWorld Wiki enjoyer.

While procrastinating studying for exams in 2022, Olivia stumbled across FroobWorld while looking for SMP servers to join having only got Minecraft for PC a few weeks prior. She loves the server and it's players.

Karikiya, officially the Socialist Republic of Karikiya, was a nation-town on [[Map 11]]. It was founded by [[Oliviaa313]] on the 1st of February 2025. Located at approximately -7023, z: -2108 (in the overworld), the town saw a few structures built, before it was eventually abandoned as a project in March of 2025 ahead of [[Map 12]].
