The Island Nation of Eridani is a moderate-sized island in the western Froobian ocean, west of Spawn. It features a mix of residential builds, shopping, and automated industrial processing (and farming).

Eridani is a multi-themed nation in Froobworld (Map 12), mostly aimed at welcoming in Froobworld players who wish to build their own homes or to set up their own shops. Residents are given an area of 40x40 blocks in area to build a home. They also enjoy free access to the Eridani Community Hall, which includes an XP generator and many free items generated by the automatic farms.

Founded by RobotSausage on June 28, 2025 and managed by kittywiz33, Eridani is a shield volcano, not unike the mythical island of Hawaii. It has a very notable bridge linking it to the Isle Of Roses, east of Eridani.

The Island Nation of Eridani is built on a dormant shield volcano. The ancients who first inhabited the island built a vast mining operation within the crater of the volcano, where they not only mined out a large area of the island’s interior, but also uncovered a few horrors that may have eventually resulted in their demise.

The Bay of Eridani is located along the north coast of the island. It is believed to be an ancient impact crater. What lies below the surface of the water in the bay are strange water-breathing creatures. Some of them are armed with green, three-pronged spears, and they attack anyone they see.

Throughout the underbelly of the island, lies a network of mines and caves. Some of the Ancients had discovered something they referred to as a trial chamber somewhere within the cave network. Archaeologists believe this chamber may have led to the demise of the Ancients.

On June 28, 2025 14:26:47 UTC, as revealed by the mystics (deputy staff), RobotSausage landed at the uninhabited island, disembarked from his birch wood boat, and broke a block of coal ore. Thus began the process of claiming the island. While hastily setting up a makeshift shelter, [[RobotSausage]] was joined by [[Bmoneyyyy]] to shelter in place during the dark, unsafe nights. The original window she created and installed in the shack can still be seen and will be preserved in a museum in place of the shack.

To the northwest of the island lies a number of pre-built buildings where residents of Froobworld can set up a shop to sell their wares. At the heart of the island lies the residential area of Eridani. Various homes can be found here. Residents have access to the Eridani Community Hall. Free cooked chicken can be found in copper chests for all to enjoy, as it is illegal to be hungry at Eridani.

The anchor of the industrial and farming area is the Eridani Community Hall. All of the farms on the island are fed into a series of water conveyors and elevators to a mass storage system, which looms large within its walls. A blast furnace/furnace/smoker array is perpetually fuelled by kelp blocks, which are produced via a furnace array that is self-powered by kelp from the kelp farm. Rounding out the automatic farms are the chicken farm, carrot/potato farm (which can be switched to a bone block farm), bamboo farm, sugarcane farm, iron farm, wool farm, slime farm, glow squid farm, and melon/pumpkin farm. High above the Bay Of Eridani, a drown farm can be seen hanging freely in the sky in much the same way that bricks don't. To the northwest looms a gunpowder farm and a mysterious, seemingly pointless glassed in area in the ocean that appears to be sucking things up out of the water. Outside of the drown and gunpowder farms, residents have access to most of what is generated by the island farms.

One of the early residents who joined Eridani was [[sci300768]]. A self-described unskilled builder, sci assembled their store/residence using whatever materials they had available. When the area was rezoned to be strictly residential, they did not remove the building, but instead moved their shop to be near the Eridani General Store and declared the building as their residence. The town council has threatened to condemn the building many times due to it being an eyesore, but sci has always succeeded in dodging the laws.

Crateris is a multi-themed town in Froobworld mostly aimed at welcoming in Froobworld players who wish to build their own homes. Two apartments have recently been added for those who wish to move into existing spaces.

The town of Crateris was formally set in stone on October 14, 2022 by [[RobotSausage]]. Robot is the owner of Paff, an industrial complex bordering on the town of Crateris. He made the decision that a town would benefit from the bounty of resources generated from Paff and NetherPaff.

=History=

==Ancient Times==

Crateris is built around an ancient impact crater, an event believed to have occurred in Ancient times. Local astronomers have analyzed the impact angle and meteorite fragments and have concluded that the asteroid which impacted this location came from the direction of the star Zeta Reticuli, in the constellation Reticulum. This would deem the asteroid in question an interstellar object, making this location in Froobworld very special. Medieval folklore insists there are creatures in the nearby caves that are not of this world, however many of the caves have been illuminated to prevent any unexpected visitors.

==The Six-Minute War==

On February 5 2025, the town of [[Crateris]] came under attack by the corporation of Mojave. This would become known as the Six Minute War, given the war lasted roughly six minutes. Beginning with a former citizen of the server world firing their cannon west towards Crateris, a support pillar on the east loop of The Tube was badly damaged. Inexplicably, it did not collapse. To make things even more confusing, both Fish and [[RobotSausage]] decided to switch sides, with the former citizen of the server world standing her ground at Crateris while Robot manned (robot'd) the cannon and opened fire, further damaging the crumbling Tube pillar. But the rebar holding the pillar together held up, and after the end of the very brief conflict, the town engineers determined that the pillar did not need to be repaired. Today, the damaged pillar remains as it was during those fateful six minutes as a reminder of what took place, and to hopefully prevent history from repeating itself.

==Southern Annexation==

Plans to push the southern town border south began in February 2025, where the land south of Crateris was lit up to prevent mobs from spawning and marking out potential future roads. The Tube was formally expanded into this new area in early March 2025, including the reconfiguration of the existing portion of The Tube over the area of Crateris Park. This resulted in the ability to formally request to shrink the distinct protected area of Paff (industrial complex next to Crateris) to allow the southern annex to push through unobstructed.

When Crateris was first founded, a town manager was appointed but a few months later, after they were removed from the world, a new town manager was sought. By the end of May 2025, [[Khaoticss]] became the new town manager.

==The Tube==

If you want to travel the old fashioned way, but don't feel like walking, you can access all the various residential districts of Crateris via The Tube. The main station for the east and west loops are found at the top floor of City Hall. The Tube was rated 10/10 by [[Minecart_Blog]].

As of February 1st 2025, The Tube has been branched out towards Mojave, with direct access via the left side station waypoint at City Hall. A person riding on the right side track on the east loop can also exit their minecart and replace it on the left side track at any point up to The End/Taiga Station and resume travel to Mojave.

As of March 9 2025, The Tube underwent a reconfiguration near Crateris Park, as well as a full expansion south of the original southern town border (now expanded south).

There are now six distinct lines within The Tube:

There are also three transfer stations that enable access to both the West and East Loops:

==The Underground Mall==

Located below the town of Crateris is [[The_Underground_Mall]]. Unlike Spawn Town, which features individual outdoor plots where you build the walls and other structures for your shop to sell items, [[The_Underground_Mall]] has kiosks. Here, you can set up a small boutique (or two!) with fewer retail and build restrictions than Spawn Town.

==Crateris Battle Multiplex==
Cateris has a multi-floor battle arena complex called the Crateris Battle Multiplex. It features six floors of different battle environments, including a gladiator arena, a "Backrooms" style close quarter battle area, a yet to be finished ranged weapons floor (may not be completed before the world ends), a plain-jane floor for those who just want walls around them and nothing else, a Matrix-themed room that will swallow your soul in its bleakness, and a jungle "predator" themed, glassed in top floor. There are potions for sale as well as free iron armor and weapons.

==SCUBA Diving In The Bay Of Crateris==

Thanks to a conveniently placed conduit in the middle of the bay, you can explore the vast wonders of the bay without worry of drowning, while being able to see everything as though you had just chugged a potion of Night Vision.

==The West Coast Trail==

Beginning at the western outskirts of the community farm fields at Spawn, there lies a path that travels across a covered bridge. It predates RobotSausage's existence in Froobworld. From there, the path continues west, meandering through wilderness and random land claims. If one was to travel this path, they would find themselves to be on The West Coast Trail. This trail leads travelers over many bridges, through several different biomes, and finally, to the town of Crateris. [[wyretm]] was brought in to help on several bridge projects, most notably, a massive red brick bridge at 22200x1095. The West Coast Trail was formally completed in late May of 2025.

==Crateris Park==

Crateris Park was completed on June 23, 2025. It features a water feature that hosts turtles and named fish, plus a shrubbed area for a sniffer habitat. Also found is a small mangrove swamp occupied by two frogs and a fish. Water flows into the park from a nearby spring. There are park benches, romantic little spaces, a variety of trees, and an overall relaxing environment.
