Wiki Guide

From FroobWorld Wiki

Congrats on finding the Froobworld Wiki! You've made it.

This page is going to show you how to create your own wiki page here with ease, there will be a few steps but once you get it you can end up with a page just like any other player.

Logging In

Firstly you'll want to log in, on the top right of your page you should see a username "Anoynmous" if you click the drop down box it will ask you to log in. If you've never logged in before then you'll have to create a username and password, then afteward it'll ask for the password in the #welcome channel of the Discord. This can be found in a spoiler box.

Now your logged in you are an Official Member of the Froobworld Wiki! and can now edit :D.

Making a Page

The first page you'll most likely want to make will be your player page, now how do you create a new page you may ask?

Simply go into your URL bar and and replace "froobworld.com/wiki/Wiki_Guide" with "froobworld.com/wiki/Your Player Name" e.g. I'now going to enter into my URL, https://froobworld.com/wiki/Deuuce.

This will create a blank page on the wiki for your username, just make sure its correct (if its not you can always do a redirect later).

Editing the Page

Part 1.

This process will be harder then the last two steps but still easy enough, to make your player page you'll want to first open a new tab on your browser and enter https://froobworld.com/wiki/Nickname into the URL. This will redirect you to a player template page.

Nicknack.png

From here (ensure you're logged in) on the top right you'll see the button "View Source" a source page for a wiki is what basically allows it to be made, e.g. you enter the correct format of text into a source, it will display on your page.

Once you've clicked "View Source" you'll see your page change slightly, now with the page text in a text box. Highlight and copy all the text from this text box for your own page.

Once this is done return to the page you created for your player (e.g. your froobworld.com/wiki/_Deuuce page) and click edit on the top right hand corner. You've now entered the source code of your wiki.

From here if you paste every thing you copied from the nickname page into your player page then scroll down and hit save. Your page will be the exact same as the Nickname page, except will have the title of your username and your URL should contain your username.

Part 2.

Now once your editing your page with the format pasted, you'll see at the top an "infobox" the text (which should be in purple if previous steps have been completed correctly) will mention username= rank= etc. etc.

You can remove the deafault text "unkown" and replace it with your username, join date, rank and more.

Evidently more text can be added in places which have e.g. "project 1" "project 2" can be replaced with your own text in editing mode.

Text with === === signs before them highlight headers, sub headers and mini headers. (more equal signs = more smaller the header.

Part 3.

Adding an image is probably the one of the hardest parts about the wiki, but becomes super easy once you get the hang of it, to add an image follow these steps below:

1. Open a new froobworld.com wiki tab (logged in).

2. Scroll down until on your left you'll see the Upload Image button.

3. Once you've clicked on that link you'll be taken to a screen to upload an image from your device, so choose your photo.

4. Name the image to something you'll remember before uploading it, then hit upload.

5. Now to add an image, you can replace parts of text, e.g. in the infobox of your player wiki page (on the edit menu) it'll say "image=" you can change this to your player skin, e.g. "image=duzio.png" (my uploaded player skin has this name).

Addtionally to add an image to something like a thumb, which allows small boxes of your photo to be displayed on the side of your page whilst you read the text. The format is below, just replace image.png with your own png name.

Part 4.

Finally you can return to the main players page once you've finished editing your page and add using an asterix * your player username (the name of your URL) within two square brackets on either side to link your player page to the list of players e.g.

Make sure it's in alphabetical order.

Congrats on your first wiki page! lmk if you have any questions about this guide!!!
