The Wild Superscraper is a 35 story skyscraper located in Spawn Town 8 by Wild1198. It is the follow-up to the former title holder of FroobWorld's tallest structure, Wild Tower. The Wild Superscraper is 256 blocks tall and reaches build limit. Though unconfirmed due to it's difficult to prove nature, the Wild Superscraper is believed to be the largest structure on the server.
Site & Construction
The Wild Superscraper is located West of the original spawn point at Spawn Town 8. The tower was a follow-up to Wild Tower and was built in response to idkmanidk's Burj Khalifa. Before construction could begin, a large forested area had to be cleared. As well as this, a large section of the neighboring mountain was removed. At the time, the plot was far removed from any existing structures or roads.
The Quiet Lake Shopping District was built to connect The Superscraper to the rest of Spawn Town 8. The shopping district consisted of 8 15x15 store plots. A small pier was built alongside the existing lake. Since the establishment of the district, several small cabins were constructed surrounding the lake. Past The shopping district, Downtown Spawntown, originally called the Tri-Tower Business Park, is without question the most impressive area of Spawn Town 8.
Construction of The Wild Superscraper began on March 8th, 2023. The materials used for construction came largely from player donations. Rarer blocks were obtained through mining or were purchased from shops. Construction concluded on August 11th, 2023, and the tower was opened that same day.
Architecture & Design
The exterior of the building was inspired largely by American skyscrapers of the late 19th to early 20th century. Including the Chrysler Building, Empire State Building, Singer Tower, Book Tower, and Tribune Tower. It was constructed from stone bricks as the material was easy to obtain, durable, and visually interesting. On the ground floor of the tower, there are 4 large arched entrances. The copper ceilings of these arches, as well as the dome of the lobby are recycled blocks from the original roof of Wild Tower.
In the center of the lobby is a large map of Spawn Town 8. Also in the lobby is a directory, noting what is on every floor of the tower. As well as a list of tower residents.
Going up the stairs, on the 2nd floor notably includes a large wall of contributors of the tower. The 3rd and 4th floors of the tower is the shopping mall, consisting of 6 shop plots. Floors 5 through 7 are the towers smallest apartments. The 8th floor is the Events Room. As the name implies, used for small server events and gatherings. Floors 9 and 10 are offices for businesses on the server. The 11th floor is a workspace area made available for everyone on the server to use. The workspace includes infinite lava, anvils, max enchanting table, and every workbench in the game, as well as several other functions. The 1st elevator tower ends at the 12th floor. Wild's Company HQ is located on this floor. The 13th floor is inaccessible by elevator, instead, a flight of spiral stairs on the 12th floor lead to the 13th. This floor consists of Wild1198's home, office, and access to the redstone corridors of the upper part of the tower.
The owner of the server Froobynooby as well as head admin Chief share a peculiarly decorated apartment on the 14th floor. Floors 15 through 18 are more apartments. Both the 18th and 19th floors are the tower's Observation Deck. Called so because of the great views it provides. The lower Observation Deck is 1 block above cloud level and has a glass floor, simulating walking on the clouds. The upper floor of the Observation Deck has an open balcony providing a great jumping off point of Elytra users. It is a great testament to the scale of the Superscraper, that it's predecessor, Wild Tower caps off at the same level as The Superscraper's observation deck.
The 21st through 28th floors are used for several purposes. The 29th floor of the tower is the last public space of the tower. The Stratosphere Lounge is a club that includes several dining tables, a bar, and a stage.
The Penthouse & Spire
The most exclusive residence of the server is found on the 30th floor. The Superscraper Penthouse occupies 4 floors of the tower and has the best view on the server. The penthouse will be bought at auction and is expected to go for several dozen diamond blocks, being the most expensive residence on the server. The 35th floor of tower is only accessible by fireworks and Elytra. The 3x3 room houses a beacon emitting a Haste powerup to the surrounding area. The Spire of the tower begins at the 30th floor penthouse and reaches build limit, constructed mainly of copper blocks, it is an eye-catching cap to this monumental structure.
Legacy
Due to the projects massive scale and mainly being built by 1 player. The Wild Superscraper took many months to complete, perhaps being the last large scale project of Spawn Town 8. It's construction not being complete until nearly a month after the establishing of Spawn Town 9. The Wild Superscraper is an impressive structure, and one that tested the limits of it's creator. It is the final major project for Wild1198 on Map 11. Following the opening of the Superscraper, Wild1198 chose to focus on smaller projects and group creations. The Superscraper stands as the pinacle of Wild1198's creations, and a major landmark of both Map 11, and the history of the Froobworld server.
